I can’t dodge it anymore. I’m stuck adapting AI to my daily workflow. The speed, the ease, and the instant results that can save many hours of work are really powerful. Yet there is this eerie feeling I got deep down inside.
One morning, I opened LinkedIn and found a bunch of posts from people sharing their boosted productivity by using AI tools. Which is good, and I’m thankful for it, as I can find some takeaways since I’m (still) in the beginning phase of exploring all this AI stuff.
I’m such a slowww learner. In a way, it gives me space in the middle of this fast-paced, super-speed AI era. All of these explorations have led us to skip the mundane process.
Being a digital product designer, creating design handouts is one of my roles in solving problems. Sketching is now replaced by prompts. Within seconds, a couple of design variations can be generated. Within seconds, a nearly finished product can be shipped.
Which I love!
Things merely mentioned are about the less-human collaboration approach, the limited tokens, and the quick response that (in my skeptical mind) could make people addicted.
The invisible price that will cost us more (?)
A friend of mine shared his thoughts and had the same concerns. Speed is our new obsession. We build faster, but at the cost of compromising the fundamentals behind the work itself. Well, maybe it’s just… part of this new world order.
